Behind the Name

The name “J2K” stands for “Journey to the Kingdom”.  We see life as a journey; there are mountains and valleys, different paths we could choose, and for most people, uncertainty about what is just around the corner.
As with “Christin” in Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan, while we do not always know what to expect from day to day, we DO know that God is sovereign over all.  He knows our weaknesses and, in His wisdom, created personal relationships as a powerful method of helping each other continue towards the “Celestial City”.
In Pilgrim’s Progress, Christian is brought to the knowledge of Jesus Christ through the preaching of Evangelist.  He is taught deeper truths by Interpreter.  And he is accompanied by Faithful and Hopeful, each playing a strategic role of encouragement and mentorship in Christian’s journey through life.
With secularism is on the rise, aggressive anti-God ideologies being forced into our education system and the very fabric of our society, and an increasing lack of Biblical knowledge abounding in Christian circles, our world needs the Gospel more than ever before in clarity, truth, and love.  And our Christian youth and families need to be rooted firmly in the theological and doctrinal positions of Scripture.
Our vision for J2K is to evangelize, teach, disciple, and encourage.  Our mission starts with reaching youth through Bible camp, grows as we disciple our staff, and continues to spread as we reach families and people outside of the camp ministry with discipleship and Bible seminars and training.
